If 19-Year-Old Me Met a Coach
As a young teenager I was a quite active in sports, music and working. I also spent a year abroad as an exchange student, also working on a horse farm and with hard work, even finished college a year early. So when I was 19, I took a brave decision. I decided to take a break for a year to see if I could be a material for a professional piano player. I was practicing hours a day, beside balancing a part-time bookkeeping job.
💡 The truth at the end of that year, I convinced myself I wasn’t good enough to pursue that career.
That younger version of me, full of experiences, energy and curiosity, was wrapped in self-doubt. In my head, the only way to “make it” as a pianist was to become a world-class virtuoso. And because I didn’t trust myself as that, I shut the door. I turned away from music, and instead stepped into economics and international business, path that seemed safer, most importantly more “impressive” and more aligned with what I thought society expected.
Looking back, I see the pain now of that choice. It wasn’t about the piano skills, it was about believing my authentic style of playing or performing weren’t enough.
The Moment of Clear View ✨
If 19-year-old me had met a coach, the story might have been different. A coach could have helped me challenge that limiting belief, see the beauty in my own style of playing and recognize that success is not one a single definition.
That’s what clarity really does: it strips away the noise, the comparison, the pressure to fit into a box. It shows you that your voice and your way is of high value, however it is.
Many years later, I began to understand that fulfillment in life doesn’t come from checking boxes or meeting expectations of others. It comes from finding this alignment between your work and you, meaning your deeper purpose and unique strengths.
Finding Your Values ✨
That’s exactly why I coach today. I see younger professionals in sustainability having amazing talent, ideas and energy, but also carrying doubt and pressure.
My work is to hold up a mirror so you can see your values and strengths clearly. To help you cut through the noise, redefine what “success” looks like for you and take confident steps.
Because when you step into your authentic voice, you create ripple effects that move organizations and the world forward.
The 19-year-old me didn’t have that clarity. But you don’t have to repeat that story. Coaching can help you see what’s possible, have your vision in front of you, and raise your awareness before doubt convinces you otherwise.
💡 That’s why I do what I do today.
Because the gap I felt at 19, the tension between passion & pressure, between possibility & uncertainty, is the same gap so many young professionals in sustainability feel now.
Working in climate related sectors, you are definitely motivated to make an impact. But the field is demanding and uncertain. Policies change weekly, expectations pile up and the inner voice inside sometimes gets loud.
Coaching is where that shifts.
It’s the place where you:
Find your own values.
Replace doubt with confidence.
Learn to see your authentic strengths clearly.
Build a vision that connects passion with purpose.
Step into your role with faith as a leader.
Why This Matters ✨
When you just feel stronger, you create greater impact in your work, your organization, and the sustainability movement as a whole.
My story started with a piano. Yours may start with data, reports or endless meetings. But the thread is the same: when clarity meets courage, everything changes.
That’s the journey I wish for those shaping the future.
