About
Hi, I'm Berglind.
I am happy you are here, so thank you for visiting my website.
Through coaching, reports establishment, writing and advisory support, I help people move forward with more clarity, stronger direction and a more sustainable way of working.
These days my working days are like a dream come true! I support people who are working, in one way or another, to protect and care for our Earth. My work is grounded in the belief that meaningful sustainability work requires more than knowledge and strategy alone. It also asks for a solid heart behind the work, with clarity, steadiness and the ability to stay connected to Earth, and to the purpose why we are in this sector.
Over the past two decades, I have worked across the private sector, international affairs, NGOs, academia and sustainability-related leadership. These experiences have given me insight into how systems function, how change unfolds across sectors, and how much invisible responsibility often rests on those trying to make a positive difference.
Why I Created BGlobal
I created BGlobal back in 2017 when I left UN NGOs and wanted to dig deeper into the science behind the UN Sustainable Development Goals. I joined a PhD Programme in Business Administration, researching how companies could use the UN SDG framework to adapt their business models to be genuinely socially responsible. It took many turnarounds!
Now, almost ten years later, I have learnt that sustainability work is not only technical or strategic — and not at all purely academic. It is also deeply human.
It touches identity, values, communication, resilience and the question of how to keep going without losing yourself in the process. Many professionals care deeply about the change they want to create, yet they are often working within systems that move slowly. They sense the high expectations, and then with time lose the thread to the passion within.
That is part of why I created BGlobal.
BGlobal was built as a space for thoughtful support, practical structure and grounded reflection for sustainability professionals and organisations — and also to provide very practical assistance.
My Professional Background
My background includes more than 15 years of experience across international organisations, NGOs, academia, corporate environments and public administration, alongside broader work over the past two decades across sectors and leadership contexts.
I have worked in roles connected to international cooperation, project development, communication, teaching, stakeholder engagement and cross-border collaboration. This has given me a grounded understanding of both the ambition and the practical realities of working for meaningful change.
I understand the language of strategy, systems and delivery, but also the realities underneath it: limited time, competing demands, internal resistance and the emotional weight that meaningful work can carry.
How I Work
My approach combines structured coaching methods, leadership frameworks and real-world experience from international cooperation, organisational change and sustainability-related work.
I am a certified coach through Robbins-Madanes Training in the United States, and I am especially interested in the meeting point between sustainability, leadership and inner life — how we work, lead and contribute in ways that are both effective and deeply human.
Sometimes my work means helping a professional think through a difficult decision, stakeholder conversation or next step.
Sometimes it means helping a company bring more structure and clarity to its sustainability work.
Sometimes it means creating reports, resources or written guidance that make a complex topic easier to understand and act on.
Across all of it, my intention is the same: to help people move forward with more clarity, more confidence and a stronger connection to what matters.
Why People Work With Me
Many purpose-driven professionals want to create real change, but they do not always have the support, space or structure they need to do that work well over time.
I support professionals who want to strengthen their leadership, gain strategic clarity and grow their impact without losing themselves in the process.
My work is designed to help people develop:
- Clearer direction in their career and leadership journey
- Confidence in how they communicate and influence
- Resilience for demanding roles and environments
- A grounded sense of purpose that can sustain long-term impact
People often leave our conversations, seminars or collaborative work with clearer priorities, practical next steps and renewed confidence in their own path.
What Matters to Me
Nature has always been an important anchor in my life. Living in Iceland, I am constantly reminded of both the strength and fragility of the natural world. That relationship shapes not only my perspective on sustainability, but also the tone of my work.
I believe meaningful contribution does not have to come at the cost of losing ourselves. I believe thoughtful leadership matters. And I believe that people working to protect and care for the Earth also need places where they can reconnect to clarity, energy and direction.
A Final Note
I live in Iceland with my family and work with clients and collaborators across sectors and countries.
If you feel aligned with this way of working, you are warmly welcome to explore BGlobal further.
All the best — and BGlobal in heart & mind, but first of all: be kind.
Berglind
